Orchardgrass vs “Orchard” Grass
In the game there are two completely different types of grass:

“Orchard” Grass (Bellflower Meadow)
This is ordinary grass that grows in Bellflower Meadow (left of the Log Cabin, next to the water tower, or near the Old Shack). Tyrone thinks it’s superior just because it grows there and will happily swap it for Fuel.
It starts regrowing 20 hours after the first patch of the previous day. You normally get 5 patches per day (8 during Competitions). The grass only appears when you visit Bellflower Meadow after the 20-hour timer has passed.
Orchardgrass (Water Sawmill)
True Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata) only grows in the garden below the river in the Water Sawmill area. This is the nutritious type of grass your animals need to produce Silver Star Milk, Silver Star Eggs, and Silver Star Black Wool.
Unlocking Silver Produce from Animals
Animals will not ask for Orchardgrass until you complete the Orchardgrass quest line:
- Buy the Orchardgrass Clearing lot in the Water Sawmill South (below the river).
- Complete the Quests, one of which asks you to feed Orchardgrass to a Welsh Sheep or Kerry Cow.
After this, the Kerry Cow, Welsh Sheep, and Ayam Chicken can produce Silver items.
How Each Animal Works
Kerry Cow → Silver Star Milk
- Sometimes (every 1–3 days, random) shows a blue bubble and asks for Orchardgrass.
- Eats a random amount between 3–12 Orchardgrass.
- After it is full it stops giving Silver Star Milk and returns to eating Clover until it wants Orchardgrass again.
- Alternative: Cows under Cow Shades (from past special offers) produce Silver Star Milk without needing Orchardgrass.
Silver Star Milk can be turned into Silver Butter at the Cheese Master.
Welsh Sheep → Silver Star Black Wool
- Works the same way as the Kerry Cow.
- Enabled after you buy the Orchardgrass Clearing Lot and finish the related quests.
- Shows the blue bubble and eats Orchardgrass when it wants it, then produces Silver Star Black Wool.
Ayam Chicken → Silver Star Eggs
- Wants Orchardgrass, but other chickens in the same coop will try to eat it too… it seems you can’t train chickens.
- To save Orchardgrass for the Ayam only, put it in its own separate coop.
- Note: Other chicken breeds very rarely produce Silver Eggs as well (don’t rely on this).
Important Notes
- Animals only eat the real Orchardgrass from the southern Sawmill area — never the “Orchard” Grass from Bellflower Meadow.
- Automation only feeds Orchardgrass to Animals that are asking for it while you are on your Farm.
- Cow Shades remain a convenient way to get Silver Milk without using any Orchardgrass.
Yorkshire Pig → Silver Star Bacon & Pancetta
Yorkshire Pigs with a Pig Shade produce Silver Star Bacon and Silver Star Pancetta — they do not need to eat Orchardgrass. Pig Shades were available in a past special offer.
You can get a combined total of up to 5 Silver Bacon or Silver Pancetta per day.
